THE ARTERY SHOW TENTOONSTELLINGEN

The Artery Show presenteert een tentoonstellingsprogramma dat geïnspireerd is door de kunstverzamelaar als de drijvende kracht van het kunstecosysteem. In TETEM kunstruimte vindt de hoofdtentoonstelling plaats waarbij ruim 30 kunstverzamelaars uit Enschede een deel van hun privécollectie tonen. Te zien zijn werken van Francis Bacon, Lucebert, Erwin Olaf, Anton Mauve, Joachim Bandau, Peter Struycken, Billy Childish, Gertjan Scholte-Albers, Hans Abbing, Theo Voorzaat, Yang Fan en vele anderen waarmee een beeld wordt gegeven van uiteenlopend verzamelgedrag evenals de persoonlijke drijfveren van de kunstverzamelaars. The Artery Show tentoonstellingen in zw-artprojects, Cabinodd en Galerie Beeld & Aambeeld presenteren verschillende aspecten binnen de kunstmarkt: het traject van ondernemend lokaal talent, het vertegenwoordigen van internationale kunstenaars en de ontwikkeling van een privécollectie. Drie dagprogramma’s op 10 en 23 mei en 7 juni lichten de werking van de sector toe aan de hand van de thema’s ‘Welkom in het kunstecosysteem!’, ‘Kunst verzamelen: voor en na de rode stip’ en ‘Transacties in de kunst’. Elk programma bestaat uit een kijkje achter de schermen bij culturele instellingen en bedrijven, gevolgd door doetanks en inspirerende art talks met professionals uit de kunstsector.

A HANDS-ON LOOK AT SOME EXOTIC TECHNIQUES FOR SOUND GENERATION AND PROCESSING, by Chris Jeffs.
This seminar will present a wide spectrum of lesser known and somehow exotic sound generation and processing techniques. A short presentation and explanation will be provided for each technique, along with sample patches provided for each participant to hack as they choose. These are some of the techniques we will see: physical modeling, distortion, altered harmonic distributions, analogue emulation, phase distortion, dynamic waveshaping, algorithmic waveform generation, and spectral processing techniques using the Fast Fourier Transform.
Chris Jeffs was born in the UK and nowadays lives in Berlin. Originally a trombone player, he progressed to making and releasing electronic music, touring extensively since 1994 as a live artist and DJ, with 13 singles and 5 albums published on Rephlex, most prominently under the name Cylob. He turned to creating his own programs as a way of making his sound more distinctive. His granular synthesis and visual animation software “Particularity” won joint first prize in the LOMUS 2010 competition. Recent activity has focused on freelance iPhone development, in addition to programming for interactive installations and performances.

Mural Le Secet
Mural Le Secet is samengesteld door Pim Trooster, beeldend kunstenaar, tevens initiatiefnemer/curator van Safe/P.ART of your life (www.p.artofyourlife.nl) in Zwolle en artistiek leider van Stichting KiK (www.kik-site.nl). Speciaal voor het museum nodigde hij 10 kunstenaar, die gewend zijn om op flink formaat te werken, uit om elk een of meerdere wanden van het museum op schaal op hun eigen en unieke manier aangepast en eigen gemaakt. Tot aan de opening blijft het voor de samensteller en voor de deelnemende kunstenaars één grote verrassing hoe de werken elkaar zullen gaan beïnvloeden in de presentatie in het kleine museum Le Secet. Met werk van: Jan van der Ploeg Kim Habers Guido Nieuwendijk Marije Vermeulen Grazia Khouw Arjan Janssen Sonia Rijnhout Jasper van der Graaf Jan Maarten Voskuil Veronique Schrama Mural Le Secet is vanaf zondag 1 april dagelijks te zien tot 21 mei. Raadhuisstraat 9, 's Heer Arendskerke. Vanaf 21 mei is Le Secet verhuisd naar Vlissingen en is de tentoonstelling nog tot 21 september te op de Westerhavenweg 2 - achter het station Vlissingen.

Netherlands Media Art Institute closes end of 2012 | NIMk
Press Release, 3 April, 2012. The Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) is ceasing its activities as at 31 December 2012. The organisation in its present form will be terminated as a result of the announcement by the Ministry of Culture that the Institute will receive no further financial support after 2012. NIMk will of course try and preserve the knowledge and experience that it has built up over the past 35 years. With this in mind and in consultation with other organisations, NIMk is developing a number of plans in order to transfer its knowledge, mandate and networks, and thus secure these for the future. http://nimk.nl/eng/netherlands-media-art-institute-closes-end-of-2012
